The French research
Researchers at the University of South Brittany, led by psychologist Nicolas Gueguen, have shown how the flowers are crucial in preparing women to love. The research was published in the journal Psychology Press.
Researchers led by Gueguen recruited a sample of 46 women, each of whom was asked to watch the video of the men who told you (a kind of introduction from “marriage agency”), alone in a room. Half of the group watched the video surrounded by flowers, specifically three pots of roses, daisies and marigolds.
The other half was in an empty room. At the end of the test to all the participants were asked to indicate their degree of interest in the man of the video, and 81% of those who had benefited from the presence floral found the subject attractive, compared to less than half of ‘other group.
A second experiment, however, has seen the involvement of 5 actors, who were asked to invite a date 600 young single women between 18 and 25 years in different locations: in front of a bakery, a shoe store or, of course, a flower shop. Of the 144 who answered yes, almost all were stopped near the florist.
“These results confirm the popular conception according to which the flowers trigger the romance and facilitate the process of seduction. Flowers have always been associated with love, so it is very likely that predispose the woman, “explained Dr. Gueguen.
